Delta Park

Probably the second best dog walk in Joburg. Lots of open space with dams on the site of an old sewerage farm.

Directions: From Rustenburg Road take Road # 3 to the end. Turn left at the last t-junction to the Environ-mental Centre .

Dog Friendliness: Technically all dogs should be on lead. There have been some reports of vicious dogs attacking other dogs, people and horses in this park.

Walk Time: About 1 hour.

Parking: Safe parking at the Environmental Centre.

Safety: Take the usual precautions. It is well used and you should be safe at busy times.

Facilities: Some dilapidated loos, picnic sites and garbage bins.

Water: There are various taps with drinking water and the dams are usually clean.

The Walk: The park is crisscrossed with tracks covering open grassland, some treed areas and a few access roads. Just have fun exploring. If you want a longer walk, continue down to the Braam-fontein Spruit and walk along the river.

Watch Out For: Dodgy dogs, horses (make sure your dog is under control around horses), some litter and glass.
